Sample plumbers review replies

Real situations, not find-and-replace templates. Edit anything that does not sound like your shop before you post.

5-star emergency call-out

Sample review

“Burst pipe at 11pm on a Saturday. Dispatch picked up, and Marcus was here in 40 minutes with the right fittings. He shut the water, patched the line, mopped the utility room, and showed me the stopcock. Fair after-hours rate, no surprises.”

Example reply

Marcus will be glad that Saturday night ended with a dry floor. Thank you for trusting us on an emergency call-out - we keep fittings on the van for exactly this. Glad he could show you the stopcock so you are not hunting for it next time. Call us if anything else sounds off.

5-star blocked drain

Sample review

“Kitchen sink backed up the night before Thanksgiving. Priya snaked the line, found a wad of wipes someone else flushed, and did not make us feel stupid about it. Left the cabinet cleaner than she found it.”

Example reply

Priya takes a lot of pride in leaving the cabinet cleaner than she found it - I will pass this along. Sorry the sink picked Thanksgiving week. Wipes are a classic surprise in the line; glad it was a snake and not a tear-out. We are here if the laundry standpipe ever acts up too.

3-star late arrival

Sample review

“Quoted a 10–12 window for a dripping valve under the sink. Tech showed at 1:40. He did fix it and was polite, but I took the morning off work for nothing.”

Example reply

You are right to be frustrated about the window - taking a morning off and watching 12:00 come and go is on us, not you. I am glad the valve is holding. Please call the shop and ask for the office so we can look at the dispatch notes and make the next visit tighter. Thank you for still letting us finish the job.

1-star overcharged

Sample review

“Quoted $280 to swap a toilet fill valve. Final invoice was $640 with a bunch of line items I did not agree to. Feels like I got taken for a ride.”

Example reply

I am sorry the invoice did not match what you expected - that is a lousy feeling and not how we want a visit to end. We do not argue bills in a public review. Please call the shop with the work-order number and ask for the office; we will walk every line with you. If we missed an approval, we will make it right.

1-star callback / leak came back

Sample review

“Paid for a slab leak repair last month. Same hallway is wet again. Now they want to charge a second trip. Do not hire these people.”

Example reply

A callback on a slab leak is the last thing you should have to deal with, and I am sorry you are looking at a wet hallway again. Please call us with the original work-order number so we can send the same tech back and inspect before anyone talks money. We will sort the next step privately - not in a review thread.

1-star fake or mismatched job

Sample review

“Never showed up. Charged my card $800. Worst plumber in the city. Stay away.”

Example reply

We do not have a dispatch, a tech name, or a card charge that matches this review. If this was your visit, please call the shop with the date and any invoice number so we can look it up. If it was not us, we would like to get that cleared up privately. We are here either way.

Dos and don'ts for plumbers replies

Do

  • Name the tech when the reviewer did - it reads as a real shop, not a template.
  • Thank them for the specific job (burst pipe, blocked drain, water heater), not a generic “your business.”
  • On pricing complaints, invite them to walk the invoice offline. Do not litigate line items on Google.
  • On callbacks and water damage, offer a re-inspect first. Take the fix and any money talk off the public thread.
  • For reviews that do not match a job in your system, say so calmly and ask for a date or work order. Do not accuse anyone of lying.

Don't

  • Do not argue the invoice in public, even if you are sure the quote was explained.
  • Do not blame the homeowner (“you should have known wipes would clog it”).
  • Do not admit liability on a water-damage claim before you have seen the site.
  • Do not pile on a late-arrival review with excuses about traffic. Own the window, then fix the next one.
  • Do not ignore a review because it looks fake. A short, factual reply is enough.

Plumbers review reply FAQs

Name the tech and the job when you can, keep it short, and move anything messy - invoices, callbacks, water damage - to a phone call. Paste the review into the generator on this page, pick Plumber as the business type, and edit the draft so it sounds like you before you post it on Google yourself.

No. Public invoice debates make you look defensive to the next homeowner who reads the thread. Acknowledge that the bill did not match what they expected, invite them to walk the work order with the office, and settle it offline.

Apologize for the extra hassle, ask for the original work-order number, and offer to send the same tech back to inspect before anyone talks about a second charge. Do not diagnose a slab leak or pin blame from the review text.

Reply once, calmly. Say you cannot match a job or a charge, and ask them to call with a date or invoice number. Do not accuse them of posting a fake review. Future customers can tell the difference between a shop that panics and a shop that keeps records.
